THANK YOU COLOR RUN PARTICIPANTS!

We just want to thank our Color Run participants and supporters for a successful event!  Our PTSA members did a fantastic job organizing the event and our participants raised $9000 toward a Marque for Mahone.  A special thanks goes out to Mrs. Erin Waynes for taking spectacular pictures of the event and to Festival Foods for donating water.  Teachers who volunteered had just as much fun as the participants creating a SPLASH of COLOR!

This run would not have been successful without you!  Let’s plan on doing it again next year.

Gear - Up for Middle School

Gear-Up is a class that introduces new students to the various aspects of middle school. This class is helps students transition to their new school. The purpose of Gear-Up is to familiarize new students to their school. Students will get a chance to meet fellow classmates, tour the building, learn schedules, policies, how to open lockers, and ask questions related to the upcoming school year. It is highly recommended that all students attend so that the transition from grade school to middle school will be a positive one.

Mahone Summer Learning Camp

This summer, Mahone will be conducting a free “Summer Learning Camp” which will integrate literacy, math, science, and social studies. This camp is open to students who will be in 6th, 7th, or 8th grade at Mahone next year. The topic for this summer’s camp is “Energy and Agriculture”. Students will design projects, participate in inquiry/problem-based labs, form argumentative essays/public service announcements based on informational readings, and attend field trips. Students will plant, maintain, and harvest plants outdoors and using aquaponics. They will also build habitats for pollinators.  The Summer Learning Camp will take place at Mahone. It begins on Monday, June 19th and ends on Monday, July 24th. It runs from Monday through Friday from 8 am to Noon. There will be no school on July 3rd or 4th. You can register online by clicking the link below and selecting “Mahone.”  Please register early to ensure a position in class.  There is no enrollment fee. I am pleased to offer this exciting educational opportunity to your child during the upcoming summer months.  If you have any questions regarding this program, please feel free to call Mr. Germain at 262-359-8112.
