Mahone Summer Learning Camp
This summer, Mahone will be conducting a free “Summer Learning Camp” which will integrate literacy, math, science, and social studies. The topic for this summer’s camp is “Energy and Agriculture”. Students will design projects, participate in inquiry/problem-based labs, form argumentative essays/public service announcements based on informational readings, and attend field trips. Students will plant, maintain, and harvest plants outdoors and using aquaponics. They will also build habitats for pollinators. The Summer Learning Camp will take place at Mahone. It begins on Monday, June 19th and ends on Monday, July 24th. It runs from Monday through Friday from 8 am to Noon. There will be no school on July 3rd or 4th. Signed registration and health forms (click the link below) should be returned to the school office at Mahone. Please register early to ensure a position in class. There is no enrollment fee. I am pleased to offer this exciting educational opportunity to your child during the upcoming summer months. If you have any questions regarding this program, please feel free to call Mr. Germain at 262-359-8112.

Mahone Color Run on May 20th
Mahone's PTSA is sponsoring a Color Run to raise money to buy a marquee for our building. The
run will be at 10 AM on Saturday, May 20th. The race is a two mile fun run. Parking will be in the Indian
Trail High School Parking lot between Mahone and Indian Trail. Participants must enter the parking lot
from 60th street. Anyone can register online at the event website. The event website is linked below.
The cost to register is $30.
All Mahone students can run the race for free, but students need to raise $30 to be registered.
Registration includes: a color run t-shirt, a color run backpack, and color to throw after the race. Each
additional $30 gets the student an extra registration. Extra registrations may be used for friends or
family members and also earn extra race gear for the student.
Students will get envelopes to bring home for collecting cash and check donations. Cash and
check donations have no minimum amount. Checks should be made out to Mahone PTSA. Students
should bring any collected donations to school on Monday, April 3rd.
Each student will also have an online donation page so that donations can be made online.
Online donations have to be a minimum of $10. To donate to a student directly you need to know their
six digit race student ID #. Go to “http://shop.schoolathon.org/index.asp?PID=______ “ with the
student’s ID # in the blank. For example: If the student’s ID # was 323199, then you would go to
http://shop.schoolathon.org/index.asp?PID=323199 to donate.
Online donations are due Friday, May 5th.
Call or email me with any questions. Hope to see you there!
